Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Anchoring the technical direction of the Assessment Experience team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design and build scalable backend services and APIs for the NodeZero platform, enhancing customer interactions with proactive security assessments in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for Assessment Experience backend systems, from concept through implementation and evolution
• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs that enable reliable configuration and consumption of assessments
• Lead architectural decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define clean interfaces and remove blockers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production backend systems
• Experience building backend services in at least one modern language, such as Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases, including complex queries and schema design
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and familiarity with Docker and containerized applications
