Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the Cabin experience, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain the in-vehicle interface for riders, ensuring high performance and reliability in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement the Cabin UX application, including server-rendered UI and cloud APIs
- Integrate real-time communication systems and audio/ambient experience features into the cabin application
- Build for offline-first operation and deploy software on on-vehicle edge compute, ensuring functionality under varying connectivity conditions
Required qualifications:
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Production experience with Node.js backends, preferably using NestJS on Fastify
- Hands-on experience with WebRTC and real-time communication technologies
- Experience shipping web-native or embedded UI on Linux-based or tablet hardware
- Familiarity with database schemas and working with relational or NoSQL databases
