Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the evaluation strategy for autonomous driving software, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will define metrics, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop innovative statistical and ML methods to assess performance in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define the strategy and architecture for metrics and analyses to evaluate autonomous driving software performance
- Lead cross-functional efforts to embed evaluation into development workflows and release decisions
- Own and refine key AV evaluation metrics and KPIs, synthesizing results for stakeholders through interactive dashboards
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of applied experience with robotics or autonomous systems software across multiple subsystems
- 3+ years of experience leading evaluation of complex dynamic systems using numerical and ML approaches
- Proficiency in Python and experience working with large C++ autonomy codebases
- Proven cross-team technical leadership with the ability to influence system and architecture decisions
- PhD, Masters, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field
