Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of innovative software systems, the remote Staff Software Engineer will design and implement scalable APIs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on performance and security.
Key responsibilities
- Drive system design output and craft innovative software systems and APIs
- Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to enhance customer experiences
- Lead initiatives to improve system performance and mentor mid-to-senior level engineers
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in designing and maintaining high-performing distributed systems
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin (or similar modern backend languages), React, and AWS
- Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, and system architecture
- Active use of agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) with a deep understanding of their workflows
- Experience building public-facing APIs with management of versioning and consumption-based rate limiting
