Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Combining strong engineering fundamentals with cross-functional collaboration, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design and build software solutions that enhance payroll operations, working remotely to tackle complex problems and improve system reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Run at complex problems by designing and building intuitive tools for payroll operators and partners
- Own projects end-to-end, from problem identification to solution rollout and iteration
- Develop a deep understanding of workflows to partner effectively with product, design, and operations teams
Required qualifications
- Experience with staff-level ownership and delivery of production systems from design through deployment
- Proven ability to build internal tools or developer platforms that support complex operational workflows
- Comfort in debugging complex systems and navigating ambiguous problem spaces
- Ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to engineers and cross-functional partners
- Familiarity with technologies such as Python/Django, React, Typescript, AWS, Terraform, and Postgres is beneficial
