Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Providing technical leadership for Flow's end-to-end data path, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will own major architectural decisions and lead complex projects while remaining hands-on in the codebase to solve reliability and data-consistency challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Set technical direction for significant areas of Flow, including migration engines and CDC pipelines
- Lead the design and delivery of large, complex projects from problem definition through production rollout
- Drive root-cause analysis for customer-impacting issues and ensure durable fixes and improvements
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience building and operating production software
- Expert-level experience with Java and debugging complex enterprise-grade codebases
- Strong understanding of databases and data-intensive systems, including MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with Change Data Capture or comparable streaming technologies
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
