Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To drive technical strategy and operational excellence, the remote Staff Software Engineer will manage backend systems for the Identity team, focusing on KYC, user lifecycle management, and identity decisioning across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and align it with critical business-impacting projects over a year-long timeframe
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical sustainability and manage risks throughout the product development lifecycle
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by establishing code review standards and mentoring team members

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Proven track record in developing highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Experience in delivering major features and system components through effective technical planning and execution
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and understand systems from low-level language idioms to architecture
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
