Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To lead the development of impactful search and recommendation features, the remote Staff Software Engineer will set technical strategy, collaborate across teams, and ensure operational excellence while fostering a culture of quality and talent development.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and manage critical, business-impacting projects for the team
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and manage risks
• Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes, ensuring team ownership of operations and availability

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Extensive experience with highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• 2+ years of experience working in search or related recommendation engines
• Experience delivering major features and system components with a focus on high-quality, maintainable code
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
