Job Summary
Leading the evolution of Kilo Code, the remote Staff Software Engineer will set technical direction, design and ship advanced features, and mentor team members while driving cross-team initiatives to enhance one of the most-used AI-assisted coding tools globally.
Key responsibilities
- Set technical direction for performance optimization initiatives and establish reusable patterns for the team
- Design, build, and ship advanced features while driving cross-team initiatives that translate business priorities into technical roadmaps
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions, raising the bar for code quality and performance rigor
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with technical leadership on production systems
- Proven track record in setting technical direction for complex projects and delivering results through hands-on contributions
- Deep experience building developer tools or IDE extensions with performance optimization considerations
- Expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, including asynchronous patterns and Node.js optimization
- Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools and managing context windows
