Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time remote Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead for NetBox Delivery, the successful candidate will set the technical direction, design and build software for NetBox installations, and lead a team in enhancing production reliability and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop software for installing, upgrading, and running NetBox, including Kubernetes operators and internal APIs
- Collaborate with NetBox Core to improve application performance and reliability in production environments
- Lead and mentor engineers, establishing standards for testing, documentation, and observability within the team
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience with ownership of a production system or platform
- Strong Python skills and experience with production SaaS applications, preferably using Django and Postgres
- Experience building software on Kubernetes, including operators and controllers
- Hands-on experience with delivery tools such as AWS, GitHub Actions, and Terraform
- Proven ability to lead engineering work and mentor other engineers without formal authority
