Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
To shape the technical direction of the Maps team, the remote Staff Software Engineer will build geospatial systems and integrations, improve foundational features across products, and consolidate existing solutions into scalable offerings.
Key responsibilities
- Build data ingestion and processing pipelines for map data
- Develop APIs that enhance spatial capabilities for various teams at Samsara
- Raise the technical bar through mentorship, code reviews, and design discussions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 2 years in an architect or technical leadership role
- Strong programming and design fundamentals
- 4+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems
- 4+ years of leading technical projects across multiple teams
