Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Driving high-impact workstreams end to end, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will focus on building and extending Minerva's core services, tackling ambiguous problems, and collaborating with users to enhance data authoring capabilities in a remote eligible environment.
Key responsibilities
- Build and extend Minerva's core services, including the query rewriting service
- Partner with users and teams to scope loosely defined problems and deliver solutions
- Own design, implementation, testing, and on-call responsibilities for the systems developed
Required qualifications
- 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily in building and deploying production applications
- Deep proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, Python, TypeScript)
- Experience working on data platforms or data tooling, with a strong understanding of user needs related to data
- Demonstrated ability to independently scope and drive ambiguous, cross-team projects from design through launch
- Strong command of OOP, API design, and distributed systems patterns
