Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the technical direction for AI platform integrations, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will architect and build production systems that deliver NerdWallet's financial guidance through third-party AI assistants while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture for integrating NerdWallet's guidance into AI platforms, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Write production code for new integrations and prototype new platform capabilities as they launch
• Define reusable abstractions and patterns to facilitate collaboration across multiple platform teams

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years at the Staff level with hands-on experience in production backend systems
• Proven technical leadership in architecting complex systems and mentoring engineers
• Experience building production features on LLMs and familiarity with modern TypeScript stacks
• Strong understanding of API design, authentication patterns, and security best practices
• Experience working within third-party platforms and adapting to evolving protocols and policies
