Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Staff Software Engineer to work remotely, who will architect and deliver high-performance systems for GitHub Actions, driving technical execution from design through production and leading initiatives across distributed teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and ship high-quality technical solutions that scale across multiple GitHub services
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring code quality and integration with downstream dependencies
- Champion operational excellence by improving system reliability and establishing best practices for monitoring and alerting across Actions services
Required qualifications
- 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline, with proven experience in production software coding in various languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale system architecture and design, particularly in cloud-based environments
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices
- Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education
