Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the Enterprise Sports & Entertainment team, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable features across Toast's platform, ensuring high functionality and reliability for hospitality customers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features for the Sports & Entertainment product offerings
- Lead complex projects and ensure quality through automated testing, while collaborating with various teams across the organization
- Mentor and coach other engineers, leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflows and foster innovation
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience building backend services and APIs
- Extensive experience with an Object Oriented Language like Java or Kotlin, with a strong understanding of testing and best practices
- Proven experience in shipping production services while balancing stability and reliability
- Experience in building distributed systems and scaling backend services
- Familiarity with building Android applications and front-end applications is a plus
