Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Owning complex technical challenges, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design and evolve the core architecture of AI voice-ordering systems while working remotely to ensure reliability, speed, and accuracy under live drive-thru conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and evolve the architecture of conversational AI and voice-ordering systems for live environments
- Lead cross-cutting technical initiatives, including POS and hardware integrations
- Set technical direction and standards for backend systems while mentoring new hires
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of significant systems
- Deep experience with backend systems in Python or strong backend fundamentals
- Experience designing for reliability and correctness in real-time systems
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and drive loosely defined problems to well-architected solutions
- Bonus: experience with conversational AI, real-time audio platforms, or third-party POS integrations
