Job Summary
As the hands-on technical lead for the Firewall pod within Precision Defense, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will build and evolve services connecting NodeZero with WAF management platforms, ensuring accurate remediation guidance and customer outcomes in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical approach for the Web Application Firewall workstream, managing design, delivery, and iteration
- Design and build reliable integrations with WAF management platforms, accounting for vendor-specific policy models
- Make regular production-code contributions while leading design and code reviews to enhance quality and operational readiness
Required qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in large-scale Python software development
- 8+ years of experience leading technical work at a Staff or Lead level, including architecture and implementation
- Working knowledge of WAF platforms and policy models, such as AWS WAF or Cloudflare
- Proficiency in other modern backend languages like Go or Rust
- Strong systems-design skills with the ability to translate ambiguous problems into concrete technical plans
