Job Summary
Leading the architecture and hands-on delivery of Phare Fiber, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will define technical contracts, write production code, and set engineering standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture for Phare Fiber, defining contracts and delivery patterns
- Write production code and ship the first use case end to end, ensuring reusability across application teams
- Establish engineering standards for testing, API design, and operational readiness while mentoring engineers
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience building and operating production distributed systems
- Expertise in event-driven systems using Apache Kafka or an equivalent platform
- Experience with backward-compatible APIs and event contracts for system integration
- Familiarity with event-driven data architectures using Spark, Databricks, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated staff-level technical leadership while remaining hands-on with production systems
