Job Summary
As a Staff Software Engineer in the Tech Foundations team, the role will be a remote eligible full-time position responsible for setting the technical direction for the Observability platform, leading design and production efforts, and enhancing system performance for both engineers and AI agents.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of distributed systems handling tens of millions of events per second
- Align roadmaps across Observability and partner teams, driving decisions on build, buy, and open-source solutions
- Mentor engineers and improve design reviews, operational readiness, and on-call processes
Required qualifications
- 9+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Proven track record of leading the technical direction of systems or multi-team projects
- Deep experience in telemetry domains such as metrics, logs, or distributed tracing
- Strong coding skills in Go or Java/Kotlin
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes and AWS
