Job Summary
To support the development of innovative web applications, the remote Staff Software Engineer will focus on architecture, technical direction, and enhancing customer-facing experiences while collaborating across teams and mentoring other engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Steward the architecture and long-term health of web systems while making pragmatic architectural decisions
- Proactively identify and drive high-impact work to improve product reliability and engineering effectiveness
- Lead by example in AI-first engineering practices and mentor other engineers to elevate team capabilities
Required qualifications
- Significant experience shaping architecture and technical direction for production systems
- Hands-on experience using AI in engineering work and critically evaluating its outputs
- Strong background in backend, distributed systems, and modern web application fundamentals
- Familiarity with PHP/Laravel, React, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, AWS, or comparable technologies
- Experience with commerce, billing, identity, licensing, or APIs in desktop applications
