Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the evolution of the Orders Platform, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will architect and enhance systems for order management, focusing on event-sourced data storage, resilience in distributed environments, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Act as an architect within the Orders Platform team, setting technical direction for order modeling, storage, and reconciliation
• Design and build event-sourced systems that maintain correctness under various operational challenges
• Mentor engineers and improve observability and recovery processes to quickly identify and resolve order-state issues

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience with event sourcing, CRDTs, or similar approaches for replicated and offline-first data
• Experience with idempotency, optimistic concurrency, event replay, and reconciliation
• Staff-level experience leading technical direction while remaining engaged with coding tasks
• Proficiency in designing systems that handle network partitions and partial failures
• Backend experience in payment or ordering systems is preferred
