Job Summary

To lead the design of the next generation of Affirm's checkout experience, the remote Staff Software Engineer, Frontend will set the technical direction for the Decisions Orchestration team, ensuring fast, clear, and reliable checkout while collaborating across teams and fostering a culture of quality and ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale, aligning with critical business-impacting projects
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs
• Develop talent on the team by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example in code quality and design standards

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
• Proficiency in Javascript and Typescript
• Experience delivering major features and system components with a clear technical and execution plan
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and understand both low-level language idioms and large system architecture
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
