Job Summary
As a full-time Staff Software Engineer (Maryland), the candidate will design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend interfaces for the Okta Identity Governance team, focusing on adapting the product for government customers while ensuring compliance with stringent security standards.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure across high-compliance security baselines
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure software deployments meet governmental security standards
- Proactively identify and prioritize technical debt while driving improvements in CI/CD, observability, and reliability
Required qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active clearance or ability to obtain a high-level government security clearance
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically in shipping enterprise cloud software
- Hands-on expertise in coding with Java, Python, or TypeScript, along with experience in API and UI automation
- Proficiency in CI/CD, containers, and major cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of web authentication and authorization fundamentals
