Job Summary
Leading the development of Coinbase's greenfield native mobile app rewrite, the full-time Staff Software Engineer, Mobile will own the architecture and delivery of core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin, enhancing developer experience and ensuring high-quality outcomes in a remote-first environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture and delivery of core native app surfaces, establishing quality standards across codebases
- Lead the implementation of automated systems for code translation workflows, determining automation versus manual processes
- Enhance developer experience by improving build speeds, local development workflows, and CI/CD reliability
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of mobile software engineering experience with proficiency in Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality mobile applications with ownership of architecture and performance outcomes
- Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization techniques and experience profiling across device tiers
- Experience with AI-assisted code generation and judgment on automation versus human review
- Demonstrated ability to improve developer experience through build systems and CI/CD pipelines
