Job Summary
Serving as a highly technical subject matter expert, the full-time remote Staff Threat Researcher will analyze adversary tradecraft across endpoint, cloud, and identity environments, applying formal research methodologies to dissect complex cyber attacks and develop scalable detection recommendations.
Key responsibilities
- Scope and refine research initiatives to analyze emerging attack techniques and detection data sources across various operating systems and cloud providers
- Dive deep into technical components of specific threats to understand adversary control and manipulation of techniques
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new detection methodologies and document research findings for internal and external audiences
Required qualifications
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience with AI-driven solutions
- Experience with commercial Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) and/or Cloud-based detection platforms
- Software development experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and one compiled language (e.g., C, C++, Go)
- Security experience in at least one cloud service provider (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Established record of public community engagement, such as conference talks or technical blog posts
