Job Summary
Representing the VHA in standards development organizations, the full-time Standards Development Liaison will engage with groups like HL7 and SNOMED, manage knowledge repositories, and analyze the impact of health data standards on VHA systems and workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Engages with standards development organizations to represent VA's interests and manage participation in meetings
- Analyzes and translates health data standards for operational impact, advising on adoption and conformance
- Develops and maintains a structured knowledge management system for standards-related content, ensuring accessibility and currency
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Ten years of experience in project management for standards development
- Demonstrated participation in health data standards development organizations
- Working knowledge of health data standards and terminologies, including HL7 V2, CDA, and FHIR
- Experience building and maintaining structured knowledge repositories or content governance processes
