State Licensed Benefits Underwriter
Job Summary
Responsible for quoting, rating, and issuing new business, the full-time State Licensed Benefits Underwriter will analyze risks, deliver accurate quotes, and collaborate with various teams to achieve strategic growth initiatives while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage case underwriting for Health coverage, including manual and experience rating for renewals and new business
- Deliver timely and accurate quotes by determining premiums based on risk assessments
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and support for underwriting activities
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
- 5 years of Health Insurance Underwriting experience or 3 years with a master's degree
- State Accident and Health Insurance license preferred
- Charter Healthcare Consultant (ChHC) or Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) certification is a plus
- Experience in achieving premium retention and loss ratio targets
