State Licensed CDI Specialist
Job Summary
Collaborating with healthcare professionals, the part-time State Licensed CDI Specialist will enhance the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation through chart reviews and queries, ensuring adherence to AHIMA guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct clinical documentation tasks, meeting productivity and quality standards for each project
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy regarding severity of illness and risk of mortality
- Issue queries when appropriate to clarify diagnoses and improve documentation quality
Required qualifications
- CCDS, CDEI, or CDIP certification required
- Current clinical license (RN, NP, PA, MD)
- Two years of CDI experience
- Two years or more of clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Coding professional with CCS or RHIT/RHIA and CDI credential; minimum three years of CDI experience in IP CDI reviews required
