State Licensed Commercial Legal Director
Job Summary
Serving as a key legal partner, the full-time State Licensed Commercial Legal Director will draft, negotiate, and close various technology, data, and partnership agreements while working remotely and collaborating cross-functionally with teams across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS/platform and partnership contracts
- Advise internal stakeholders on commercial and contractual risks while supporting deal structuring and contract execution
- Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks to enhance consistency and efficiency across the business
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 8+ years of experience focusing on commercial transactions in a law firm or in-house at a technology company
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements, particularly with financial institutions
- Deep understanding of privacy, data governance, and AI regulations, including expertise in the EU AI Act
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate product strategies into practical legal advice
