Job Summary
To support a growing insurance brokerage, the full-time State Licensed Commercial Underwriter will develop and maintain relationships with retail insurance agencies, evaluate commercial risks, and manage accounts in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with retail insurance agencies
- Evaluate commercial risks and determine marketability and coverage strategy
- Market submissions to E&S carriers and negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in commercial insurance, brokerage, underwriting, or a related role
- Understanding of commercial insurance risks and coverage, or willingness to learn
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate accounts and identify solutions
- Active Property & Casualty license preferred, or ability to obtain one
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
