State Licensed Employment Counsel
Job Summary
To support global operations, the full-time Associate General Counsel will provide strategic employment counsel to PeopleOps and Talent, advise on complex employee relations matters, and develop jurisdiction-specific guardrails for hiring while working remotely across multiple time zones.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal partner to PeopleOps and Talent, guiding the employee lifecycle from hiring to separations
- Develop practical, jurisdiction-specific guardrails for hiring and support entry into new markets
- Monitor emerging employment regulations and provide actionable guidance to leadership
Required qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to at least one US state bar
- 12+ years of relevant legal experience with a focus on global employment laws
- Experience advising HR and Talent teams on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Proven track record in managing local outside counsel and employment disputes
- Excellent legal judgment and ability to deliver practical, solutions-oriented advice
