As the sole legal and compliance hire, the full-time remote State Licensed Fintech Attorney will own the end-to-end legal and compliance functions, driving the establishment of new financial products while ensuring minimal regulatory obligations and automating processes for efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Stand up new financial products by collaborating with product and engineering teams to minimize regulatory obligations and streamline compliance
- Maintain and enhance existing legal and compliance operations, ensuring they meet partner expectations while identifying opportunities for automation
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear guidance and representing the company in regulatory and partner interactions
Required qualifications
- JD and active bar admission in a US state
- Prior legal or compliance experience in a high-growth fintech startup
- Demonstrated ability to take a regulated consumer product through its full lifecycle
- Experience in consumer finance regulations, including BSA/AML/KYC and related compliance areas
- Multidisciplinary background with experience in business, engineering, or product functions alongside legal work
