State Licensed Legal Director
Job Summary
To support WEX's Mobility lines of business, the full-time State Licensed Legal Director will manage a team while providing strategic legal counsel on complex commercial transactions, product development, and cross-functional collaboration, all in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, ensuring high-quality legal support and risk assessments
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including those related to financial services and technology
- Provide legal guidance throughout the product life cycle, from inception to launch and ongoing operations
Required Qualifications
- J.D. required with a minimum of 10 years of legal experience, preferably in-house
- Licensed in at least one U.S. state with experience in payments and financial services industries
- Extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions
- Proven ability to manage and supervise legal teams effectively
- Familiarity with legal matter management systems and contract lifecycle management tools
