Job Summary
Leading the legal function for a growing SaaS company, the remote State Licensed Legal Director will manage day-to-day legal operations, oversee a legal team, and advise on privacy law, contract negotiations, and intellectual property matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and prioritize the legal function, setting standards for legal work across the company
- Build and mentor a legal team, managing hiring, workload, and professional development
- Negotiate customer contracts and advise on data privacy, intellectual property, and compliance matters
Required Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
- 8+ years of legal experience, including 3 years in-house at a B2B SaaS or technology company
- Hands-on experience negotiating SaaS customer contracts, including MSAs and DPAs
- Strong expertise in data privacy and security law
- Experience advising on governance, risk, and compliance matters
