State Licensed Senior Counsel

Job Summary

Acting as a key business partner in a remote full-time capacity, the State Licensed Senior Counsel will support the GE Grid Solutions NAM Region by managing legal matters related to commercial transactions, contract negotiations, and dispute resolutions while facilitating business growth and mitigating risks.

Key responsibilities

• Support regional leadership and teams in the tendering and execution phases of high-value projects, including contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment
• Manage disputes in the NAM region, engaging in litigation, arbitration, and mediation to achieve favorable outcomes
• Provide legal support for joint ventures, compliance investigations, and training on commercial and legal topics

Required qualifications

• JD degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
• Member in good standing of the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, preferably New York, California, Texas, or Delaware
• Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial transactions and general corporate law
• Broad knowledge of commercial law related to high-value contracts and complex projects
• Experience in claim negotiation and dispute resolution methods
