State Licensed Senior Managing Counsel

Job Summary

Supporting WEX's Corporate Payments line of business, the full-time State Licensed Senior Managing Counsel will manage a team of legal professionals, oversee complex commercial transactions, and provide legal advice throughout the product lifecycle in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team in handling Corporate Payments legal matters, ensuring appropriate risk assessment
• Draft, review, and negotiate various customer and partner agreements while ensuring compliance with corporate policies
• Provide legal support throughout the product lifecycle, including drafting product terms and addressing contractual queries

Required qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 8+ years of legal practice, preferably with in-house experience, and licensed in at least one U.S. state
• Significant experience in structuring and negotiating commercial transactions in financial services and technology
• Experience in managing and supervising others
• Familiarity with legal matter management systems and a willingness to incorporate AI into workflows
