State Licensed Staff Attorney
Job Summary
Supporting the Chief Legal Officer and the Legal Affairs team, the full-time State Licensed Staff Attorney will draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts while providing legal advice on various matters in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts for the Academy and its affiliates
- Advise business teams on contract interpretation and obligations, simplifying legal concepts for non-lawyers
- Streamline contract processes and maintain organized records of executed contracts and related documents
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- License to practice law (or ability to become licensed) in state of residence
- 2-3 years' experience in transactional law at a law firm or in-house corporate legal department
- Experience advising on music and entertainment business matters strongly preferred
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate legal documents effectively
