State Licensed Tax Director

Job Summary

To support the expansion of the State & Local Tax (SALT) practice, a full-time State Licensed Tax Director will serve as a senior strategic advisor to high net worth individuals and families, leading complex residency and state income tax matters while driving business development and overseeing technical quality and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex residency, domicile, and multistate individual income tax matters, including audits and controversies
• Develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional value within the firm's existing client base
• Oversee business development efforts, including originating new opportunities and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective engagements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 12 years of professional experience with extensive state and local tax expertise
• CPA, CMI or JD/LLM required
• Demonstrated success in generating new business and expanding client relationships
• Proven ability to lead and develop senior professionals within a high-performing team
