State Licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Job Summary

To support special education students with visual impairments, the part-time Contractor Teacher of the Visually Impaired will provide services based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collaborate with families and educators, and maintain compliance with educational regulations in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all assigned services are delivered as determined by the IEP team
• Communicate with parents and teachers to develop schedules that promote student participation
• Develop progress reports and maintain compliance with state-specific special education documentation

Required qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a public school environment as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
• State-specific educator license in the area of Visual Impairments or a related field
• Ability to work independently during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week
• Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment
• Strong familiarity with assistive technology for individuals with visual impairments
