State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

To lead security initiatives at a cutting-edge AI-native company, the full-time State Licensed VP of Security will manage AI security functions, oversee security engineering and operations, and represent security to the executive team and enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including the development of an internal AI gateway and robust security measures for consumer-facing AI surfaces
• Direct security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, ensuring secure design and implementation of security protocols
• Oversee enterprise trust initiatives, managing security narratives for fundraising and customer security reviews while maintaining compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, especially during periods of hypergrowth
• Strong technical expertise in AI security, cloud-native security, and security engineering practices
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up, demonstrating a track record of real controls and effective team management
• Experience in corporate IT, including identity management and SaaS governance, as integral to security operations
• Executive presence, capable of effectively communicating with boards and enterprise customers regarding security matters
