State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

Leading the charge in AI security, the full-time State Licensed VP of Security will oversee the development of security strategies, engineering, and operations, ensuring robust protection against emerging threats while maintaining compliance and trust with enterprise clients.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including the implementation of an internal AI gateway and agent identity management
• Direct security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, driving a secure-by-design roadmap and automated response playbooks
• Manage enterprise trust initiatives, including security diligence for fundraising and customer reviews, while maintaining SOC 2 and PCI compliance

Required qualifications

• 12+ years in security with at least 5 years in leadership roles, particularly during hypergrowth phases
• Strong technical expertise in AI security, cloud-native security practices, and modern AppSec tooling
• Experience building new security functions from the ground up, rather than just managing existing ones
• Proven ability to engage with executive leadership and manage complex security reviews with enterprise clients
• Familiarity with corporate IT governance, including identity management and endpoint security
