State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

To lead security initiatives in a rapidly evolving AI landscape, the full-time salaried State Licensed VP of Security will own end-to-end security strategy, engineering, and operations while building new AI security capabilities and maintaining a robust security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including the creation of an internal AI gateway and robust agent identity management
• Oversee security engineering teams, driving initiatives in AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec while maintaining compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards
• Manage enterprise trust and readiness for funding diligence, ensuring a strong security narrative for customer reviews and enterprise sales

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles during periods of hypergrowth
• Proven technical expertise in cloud-native security, particularly with AWS identity and modern AppSec tooling
• Strong understanding of AI security challenges, including prompt injection and data exfiltration risks
• Experience building new security functions from the ground up, not just managing existing programs
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive teams and enterprise customers, demonstrating executive presence
