State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

To lead the security strategy and operations in a full-time capacity, the State Licensed VP of Security will build and oversee AI security functions, manage security engineering teams, and ensure enterprise trust while collaborating closely with executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage the AI security function, including the implementation of internal AI gateways and agent identity models
• Lead security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, driving the roadmap for secure design and automated response
• Oversee enterprise trust initiatives, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and PCI while facilitating customer security reviews and fundraising diligence

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, preferably in hypergrowth environments
• Strong technical background in AI security, cloud-native security, and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up
• Experience managing corporate IT functions, including identity platforms and SaaS governance
• Excellent executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with boards and enterprise customers
