State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

Leading the charge in AI security, the full-time salaried State Licensed VP of Security will oversee the development of security strategies, engineering, and operations while ensuring the organization is prepared for future funding and enterprise trust.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the AI security function, including the internal AI gateway and agent identity management
• Direct security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, driving the implementation of secure-by-design practices
• Manage GTM and Operations Security, focusing on insider threat monitoring and production data hygiene

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with 5+ years in leadership roles during hypergrowth or major fundraising processes
• Strong technical expertise in AI security, cloud-native security, and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up
• Experience managing corporate IT functions, including identity platforms and SaaS governance
• Executive presence with the ability to engage with boards and enterprise customers effectively
