State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

Leading the charge in AI security, the full-time salaried State Licensed VP of Security will develop and oversee security strategies, engineering, and operations while ensuring compliance and trust posture as the company navigates future growth and funding.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including the development of an internal AI gateway and agent identity model
• Manage security engineering teams, driving initiatives in AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec while ensuring secure design practices
• Oversee enterprise trust and readiness for fundraising, including customer security reviews and compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles during periods of hypergrowth
• Strong technical expertise in AI security, cloud-native security, and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up
• Experience managing corporate IT functions as part of the security mission
• Excellent executive presence and communication skills for engaging with boards and enterprise customers
