Strategic Communications Specialist
Job Summary
To shape the public and political debate around data centre expansion and cloud sovereignty in Europe, the contract-based Strategic Communications Specialist will engage with campaign organizations, develop strategic communications, and build public and political support for sustainable and sovereign digital infrastructure, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with organizations campaigning for democratic pacing and stricter safeguards on data centre construction
- Develop and deliver strategic communications to build support for stronger democratic and sustainability requirements in data centre construction and cloud procurement
- Create messaging and media strategies to support sustainable and sovereign data centres initiatives
Required qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic communications and campaign strategies in a policy or advocacy context
- Strong understanding of the European political and policy landscape
- Experience shaping campaign messaging and engaging with media and political stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in translating complex issues for non-specialist audiences
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
