Student Assistant - IT Security
Job Summary
Providing support for information security operations, the part-time Student Assistant - IT Security will monitor security email and ticket queues, triage incoming security reports, and assist with security awareness initiatives in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and triage security-related emails and tickets, providing Tier 1 customer service
- Conduct level 1 security reviews and assist with phishing campaigns to educate employees
- Support the research and development of security awareness materials and apply updates to security equipment
Required qualifications
- Must be a current student attending the University of Washington
- Experience in computer and/or network security
- Familiarity with Unix commands and/or log analysis
- Proficiency using common business tools like MS Office and/or SharePoint
- Strong desire to learn and contribute to the team
