Student Communications Assistant

Job Summary

To support the communications team, the part-time remote Communications Student Assistant will create engaging content about environmental research and outreach, including writing web stories, promotional materials, and social media posts.

Key responsibilities:

• Write web stories and educational content on environmental topics independently or collaboratively
• Assist in developing promotional emails and marketing materials for Stone Lab courses
• Collaborate with graphic designers to create layouts and visual communications materials

Required qualifications:

• Current student pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, environmental science, or a related field
• Experience in writing for various platforms, including web and social media
• Familiarity with environmental issues, particularly related to the Great Lakes
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of communicators and researchers
• Strong portfolio demonstrating writing and content creation skills
