Surgical Scheduler

Job Summary

To support surgical operations, the full-time Surgical Scheduler will manage the scheduling of all operating room and invasive procedures, coordinating with medical staff and utilizing the EPIC system, while working onsite 1-2 times per month.

Key responsibilities

• Schedules all surgical procedures in the EPIC information system, accommodating surgeons' and anesthesiologists' schedules
• Coordinates complex surgical cases across multiple service lines and procedural areas
• Participates in daily scheduling huddles to resolve scheduling issues and ensure proper staffing and equipment coverage

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of experience in a clinical setting within a hospital is required
• Experience with booking and scheduling appointments in a hospital/clinic setting is highly preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficiency with computer information systems and typing skills of 60-75 words per minute
