Job Summary
To develop a comprehensive technical documentation library for low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution equipment, the remote contract Switchgear Technical Writer will create detailed specifications and submittal documentation while collaborating with subject matter experts and utilizing AI tools for efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Develop detailed technical specifications and submittal documentation for low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution equipment
- Create and organize a reusable documentation library adaptable to various engineering projects and designs
- Translate technical product specifications and engineering details into clear, accurate written documentation
Required qualifications
- Previous technical writing, engineering, or design experience involving switchgear or power distribution systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, ideally 480V and above
- Ability to convert engineering information into structured, professional documentation
- Familiarity with technical submittals and documentation used for project approval and installation
- Experience collaborating directly with engineers and technical SMEs
